Due to Unexpected Circumstances Bass Season Decision Delayed Until April 9th

Legislation was reintroduced in this new session that would give fisheries order authority back to the Michigan Natural Resources Commission (NRC) early allowing the seven Commissioners to vote on the bass season a month early at the March 19th meeting. Unfortunately, the new leadership of the 2015-16 Legislature has decided they will no longer use immediate effect during this entire 2-year legislative session.

The Michigan BASS Nation 2015 State Championship is set for Aug 6-7-8-9.
 
The format this year for the State Championship is the same as last year. It will be held at Sault Ste Marie , Michigan.  We will be Launching at Aune-Osborn Park . (also know as William R. Gregory boat launch)  It is next to the Aune-Osborn campgrounds. But NOT IN IT !

Michigan B.A.S.S. Nation Urges Continuation of Vital Cormorant Control Program

Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC - https://mucc.org) reports sources have told them current Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) plans may zero out the balance for the program which protects Great Lakes sportfish from depletion by large flocks of double-crested cormorants. The state could face a $162 million budget shortfall after projected state revenues fell short, meaning that fewer general funds will be available for MDNR programs.

First B.A.S.S. Team Championship a Big Success!
One hundred and fifty-five teams, compiled of over three hundred anglers took part in the inaugural Toyota Bonus Bucks Bassmaster Team Championship in Bismarck, Arkansas at DeGray Lake. Thirty-eight trails representing twenty-two states and Canada participated in the Team Championship with 90% of qualifying teams making the trip to Arkansas.

B.A.S.S. Announces High School Championship, Midwestern Open and Junior Championship

 

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. B.A.S.S. has set the date for the Costa Bassmaster High School Midwestern Open and the second annual Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship, as well as announced a new youth competition in the Junior Bassmaster Championship.

The Midwestern Open will take place May 17 on Lake Springfield out of Springfield, Ill.

The 2015 Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship will be held on Kentucky Lake, July 22-25, in conjunction with the 2015 Junior Bassmaster Championship, which will be held on Carroll County 1000 Acre Recreational Lake, on July 24-25.
