How to Start a Bass Club

Many Bass anglers have asked, "How do I start a new club". Once you have at least 6 people together that have the desire to start a Bass Club you need to do the actual paperwork.  There are actually two steps to becoming a Club.

Here are the steps to take when forming a new club:

    1. Contact The B.A.S.S. Nation

    1. Call B.A.S.S. at 1-877-BASS-USA ask for the BASS Nation Department. Then request Information Packet required to form a club.
    2. After the information packet arrives read the information, follow the instructions. It will cost $30.00 a person to register your new club with B.A.S.S. They will send confirmation that your club is registered.
    3. Remember all of your prospective members have to be members of B.A.S.S.

    2. Contact Michigan Bass Nation

    1. Put a roster together, include the NAME, ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER, B.A.S.S. member number and Email address for each member.  CLICK HERE to get a Roster Form.
         1) Make sure you indicate who the Club President and Secretary are.

Some points of information: There are Four Michigan BASS Nation Presidents meetings a year. The meetings are usually held in October, December, March and April. Club Rosters and dues are due before the end of the year. For your club to be eligible to fish he State Championship and any other Michigan BASS Nation tournaments, a club must be represented at least two of the four Presidents meetings and have their dues paid at the December Presidents meeting. This excludes new clubs that started after the December meeting. The final roster is due May 1st, it will determine the members of the club are eligible to fish the State Championship and other tournaments.
